When you enter through the front doors, you’ll find a coat room to the left and restrooms located down either hallway. The sanctuary is straight ahead. • How We Treat Visitors

As our motto says, “It takes a Village. Let us be yours.” At Village Baptist Church in Bowie, MD, we want visitors to feel at ease from the moment they arrive. You will not be asked to stand, introduce yourself, or do anything that singles you out during worship.

If you choose, you’re welcome to fill out a visitor card or use our digital connection form to share a bit about yourself. Village strives to be a church with a genuine family atmosphere, where newcomers are welcomed as guests and given the space to participate at their own pace.

  • Worship Service

At Village Baptist Church in Bowie, MD, our worship services follow a thoughtful and welcoming rhythm, described in detail each week in the bulletin. A typical service includes Passing of the Peace, prayer, congregational singing, an offering, special music, a children’s story, Scripture reading, a sermon, and Life of the Church announcements.

While we do pass the offering plate and provide options for digital giving, visitors are never expected to contribute unless they feel led to do so. All parts of worship at Village are open to guests as well as members, and you are invited to participate in whatever ways feel comfortable for you.

  • Children and Childcare at Village

Village Baptist Church in Bowie, MD offers childcare for younger children, provided by professional and caring caregivers. Our nursery suite is located down the hall to the left as you enter the building, making drop-off and pick-up simple and convenient.

Older children are always welcome in worship. During the service, children can use activity bags, and each service includes a children’s story designed especially for them. After the children’s story, children ages 4–10 are invited to take part in Children’s Church, held in a separate room, while families may also choose for their children to remain in worship if they prefer.

  • What to Wear

Village Baptist Church in Bowie, MD is a “come as you are” church. We encourage you to wear whatever feels comfortable and authentic to you. On any given Sunday, you’ll see people dressed in everything from casual jeans and shirts to dresses and suits.

Our Vision

We believe it takes a Village to...

Worship God

We nurture our faith through meaningful, soul-restoring worship that glorifies God.

Grow in Faith

We deepen our understanding of our faith story by creating spaces for spiritual growth, reflection, and dialogue.

Build the Kingdom of God

We serve with ministry partners locally and globally to care for and offer a place of peace, safety, and support for our neighbors and those in need.

Raise a Child

We seek to provide engaging age-appropriate ministries that support faith formation from childhood through adulthood.

Nurture a Thriving Beloved Community

We put love into action by pursuing justice and building relationships inside and outside the church.

Provide Mutual Care

We stand by each other through life’s challenges, we will respect and tolerate differences of opinion, be ready to forgive in the spirit with which God continually forgives us, watch over one another in prayer, and aid one another in times of distress and illness
