Village to Village - Summer 2009 Missions Program

This year, Village Baptist Church decided to reach out to a remote village in Cameroon, Africa.  One of our members learned that his home church there was trying construct a new building, because the old one (pictured below) had started to crumble and will not last much longer.

We learned from the pastor of the Bamunkumbit Baptist Church that their congregation has drawn up plans for a new building and obtained a cost estimate of a bit more than 7,000,000 Cameroon francs, or about $US 15,000.  Compared to the cost of a building in the U.S., that amount sounds like a bargain, but it represents a lot of money for a small village in Cameroon.  Village Baptist decided that we should help a fellow Christian congregation, particularly since we have a personal contact.

Our program, Village to Village, is simply to raise money during the summer and then send it to this church in the Fall.  Please watch the Village Baptist Home  Page for information about  upcoming fund-raising activities, or send a direct donation marked "Cameroon."
